ROME, N.Y. – Gary’s Music in Rome has sold many instruments over its three decades in business, but the owner says he’s shifting his focus to his second endeavor.
Gary Colmey opened Gary’s Music in 1983. A few years ago, he opened Gary’s Indoor Garden Supply at the same location on West Dominick Street. Since then, he’s been keeping both afloat.
In a post to Facebook Wednesday, Colmey said Gary’s Music “is now over,” citing the move to online shopping for music gear.
He went on to say “Don’t feel bad. Don’t express sympathy. It’s time.”
Gary’s Indoor Garden Supply will remain open at 229 W. Dominick St.
